For W.A. Arms and Armoury members $290. (Saving of $100 off public price).
WA Arms and Armour Society members are being offered a special price of $290 to gain a Diploma of Military History and Arms by building upon their interests in military history and weapons.
This also provides a great way to support your progress towards the WA Police ‘Student of Arms’ status, and assists those interested in research, history and collections to enjoy a more structured learning experience through having a purpose in gaining a qualification.
The Diploma is achieved by completing two online programs of study:
• Military history studies; and
• Firearms and weapons studies
The Diploma is a self-paced online program covering the key areas of the famous military battles in history, including the parties and countries involved, their objectives and planning activities, battle locations, and how the battles were won and lost. It explores the military equipment used, as well as providing insights into modern weaponry, including ballistics, rifles, handguns and tasers.
The Diploma is designed to be approximately 25 hours of learning, with students having up to 2 years to complete the course in their own time. The assessment is based on written essays around key wars and the evolution of weapons, although it can be negotiated to be aligned to your own specific military historical interests and collections.
There are also options for those who do not have access to a computer or an email account who can study by distance education through materials delivered via the Australian Post.
Take this opportunity to be more purposeful in your research, documenting your insights and sharing your knowledge, whilst having fun learning about all things military.
The Diploma can be completed in around 5-6 weeks with one hour study per day, however students have 2 years to finish their study to allow for work, family, travel and health related reasons.
Note: Students without access to a computer or who do not have an email address can study the course via correspondence (through the post).
Don’t forget to email or post membership details and submit a student enrollment form – it can be found on the home page.
